STORE & BREEDING CATTLE - WEDNESDAY 7TH MARCH 2018

Forward: 449 head of cattle Comprising: 151 Young Feeding Bulls, 31 Beef Feeding Cows & 267 Bullocks & Heifers. Feeding Bulls met the same strong demand with plenty of buyers who missed last week’s weather affected sale ready to step up to the ringside. Just bulls over 12 months of age which averaged £1093 and the rest of the entry of 151 under 12 months which averages £988.

Last beef cow of season wins first-ever prime title for Scrivin family Jim and Christine Scriven, of Park House Farm, Elslack, consigned a single British Blue-cross heifer - the very last of their winter prime cattle - at Skipton Auction Mart’s March showcase and were duly rewarded when it claimed a first-ever fatstock title for the couple at the venue.
