BREEDING SHEEP - MONDAY 13TH APRIL 2015

Breeding Sheep (442 Head) There were 162 Sheep with 280 lambs at foot forward for today’s weekly sale. Trade was a bit stronger today with grass starting to appear and more customers now starting to look for sheep. BREEDING SHEEP - MONDAY 6TH APRIL 2015

Breeding Sheep (362 Head) There were 135 Sheep with 227 lambs at foot forward for today’s weekly sale. A useful entry drew a huge bank holiday crowd of buyers and young sheep were again extremely well bid for and many more could have been sold. Average this week of £71.74 per life or £192.37 per outfit. Please let us have entries by 12noon on Fridays for inclusion in the online catalogue for prospective customers to see what is entered. CALVES - MONDAY 6TH APRIL 2015

64 Rearing Calves to £600 B&W av £93.13 Cont av £373.04 Native av £205 A Fantastic Bank Holiday trade for calves this Monday with British Blue calves being the pick of the day with trade topping at £600 twice both from Fred and Mark Houseman of Church Farm Enterprises with a blue bull and blue heifer one heading east and one south. Other vendors received as good a trade with Booths of Lothersdale making £530 and £520. Black and white calves were also a serious trade with a good show of quality averaging £93.13. A great day with buyers again expected to be out in force on dairy day next week.

STORE CATTLE - WEDNESDAY 1ST APRIL 2015

Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle Forward: 439 head of cattle Comprising: 112 Young Feeding Bulls, 325 Bullocks & Heifers & 2 Breeding Cattle. A good lambing time entry of cattle were easily cleared to the usual good crowd of buyers who were bolstered by several seasonal buyers at the ringside looking to put together cattle for summering. Trade was better than anticipated, with yearling bullocks again in particular strong demand.
