CCM Auctions held their fortnightly sale of Gimmer Shearlings and Breeding Ewes at Skipton Mart on Tuesday. Another good sale with ewes 2 shear upwards starting the day, and finding favour with a keen ringside, best young Mule 2 shears up to £145 on 3 occasions from T&S Binns with 2 shear Texels from the same home at £162 and 2 pens at £150, with D&SJ Pinder Newton in Bowland at £160 £158 and £152. Mike Allen from Staithes sold 2 shear Mashams to £115.

The sale of Shearlings followed similar lines with strong well bred Mules, Suffolks and Continentals all keenly bid for, Mules in the £140’s £150’s £160’s for best end, tops at £165 from Fox Farms, best strong Texels £140 to £180,  Tops £180 from D&SJ Pinder and from G Gibson of Bishop Auckland. Suffolks to £150 from W Dixon, North Lincs. Commercial shearlings of all breeds £120’s and £130’s with the lesser end at £100 to £115.
