Following last night prize show, today saw the sale take place with the excellent quality on display receiving very strong interest from the ringside. Henry Harvey’s supreme champion, a 9 month old British Blue sired all black steer from the un-haltered classes came into the sale ring and the packed ringside witnessed it race away to £2300 selling to Skipton regular Mathew Keel of Thirsk. Reserve Champion was another Black Blue Steer from JC Walker & Son, which had stood second in its class to the champion and sold for £1500. Top price of the sale was Sheila Mason’s Female Champion, this 8 month Blue Heifer was much admired and she found her new in Derbyshire with Michael & Ellie Wynne for £3000. The Mason’s also sold a Blue Bullock earlier in the sale for £2000.  JC Walker & Son of Dunsop Bridge took second highest price on the day at £2400 when their 3^rd prize British Blue Heifer caught the attention of J Bradley. James Huck of Austwick had a successful sale with his pen high price of £1900 for a Blonde cross Heifer which had earlier won the class for any other breed, with another great red Limousin Heifer realizing £1700.
