Rearing Calves to £415 (40) – Sale weekly at 10:45am

Dairy av £60 Cont av £250.96 Native av £161.33

A mixed entry of calves this morning with some very strong continentals on offer from N&R Sutcliffe and Church Farm Enterprises hitting £415 and £400 respectively, however a lot of young continentals brought the average considerably today. Young 10 to 14 day old continentals sold away to a straight trade of £170 to £200.

Trade was easier on the continental heifers with best types reaching £325, however once again young heifers steadied the average but found ready bidders in the £170 to £200 bracket. Only 5 dairy bulls but a straight trade saw an average of £60 with James Gooch’s Norwegian Red topping the trade at £85.

Once again Dugdale Nutrition kindly sponsored the top price calf which was won by Alan Sutcliffe from Eastwood.
