Skipton Auction Mart Market report – Wed 29th May 2013

Fortnightly sale of young feeding bulls, store bullocks & heifers, breeding cattle including special spring multi breed sale pedigree cattle FORWARD: 509 HEAD OF CATTLE Comprising: 206 Young Feeding Bulls, 243 Bullocks & Heifers, 60 Breeding & Pedigree.

CCM Auctions held their fortnightly cattle sale on Wednesday where trade was sharper than the previous sale. Young Bulls were good to place with over 200 head attracting additional buyers from the eastern counties to average £950 across the board. Bullocks continue to sell well, but it was the heifers that took a leap in demand with younger heifers for summering clearly dearer than the previous sale by some margin. Yearling cattle were out in force today and there were cracking runs of cattle, with the pens of 3 prizes all being won by cattle aged 10 to 13 months.

(Full details of the Pedigree Cattle sale further down the report )

Please Note: The next sale of Store & Breeding Cattle will be in 3 weeks time on Wednesday 19th June and then fortnightly after that. This is to accommodate the North Sheep Event of which CCM Auctions are Mainline Sponsors that is being held at Crimple Head Farm, Beckwithshaw on Wednesday 5th June 2013. Please come and join us for refreshments on the CCM Auctions Trade stand.
