1st quality strong bulls to £1400 & £1300 from JM Townsend of Laneshawbridge followed at £1260 and £1210 from A Rigby, Slaidburn. Nice 10mth old bulls sold away at £950 -£1050 the next grade of 8-10 month old bulls at £850 - £950.  3 runs of 5-6 month old bulls from Native cows sold to £450 - £550.

Beef Bred Feeding Cows were a varied selection, ranging in price from £1100 down to £280 averaging a healthy £659 for a plainer show.

A smaller entry of store cattle meant for a brisker trade throughout the sale today. A couple of large runs of suckled calves were on the receiving end of some fierce bidding with Alan Twell, Donnington seeing his pen of 6 British Cross Bullocks at £1050 with another pen of 7 at £890.

Smarter retail type cattle were presented in better numbers today in front of a ready audience of buyers with Franks Stubbs seeing the best of this trade with his sweet Limousin heifer selling for £1200, with Jonathon Townley of Clapham seeing his 8 month heifer make £1010.

Stronger cattle were very similar on the fortnight with large beef x dairy bullocks seeing the strongest of trades with Keith Downs topping with two Limouisn bullocks at £1240 with Edward Burrow topping the British Blues at £1195 with another Dairy x Bullock.

Native cattle saw an up and down trade with well grown bullocks and heifers readily £1000 to £1110 with KM&L Throup topping the bullocks. However, rougher and cattle not quite big enough for their age continue to be hard to place.
