STORE CATTLE - WEDNESDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER

Forward: 614 head of cattle Comprising: 87 Young Feeding Bulls, 8 Feeding Cows, 513 Bullocks & Heifers, 6 Breeding Cattle CCM Auctions conducted their fortnightly sale of store cattle at Skipton on Wednesday where another large entry was presented for sale. In the young feeding bull section a sharp trade was witnessed with young bulls of all breeds under 12 month showing an average of £877.60 and continental bulls of all ages levelling at £926.

In the Store section there was a tremendous enquiry for bullocks, with Charolais bred cattle in very strong demand, some annual consignments showing a rise in prices on the year. There was a lovely show of continental heifers and buyers were again keen to secure the best quality lots. Native cattle were out again in force with 105 head of Native beef bred and dairy bred bullocks and heifers forward for sale, and trade was seen to be just as sharp as the previous sale as customers respond to the increased numbers available at Skipton.
