Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs and Breeding Sheep

177 Breeding Sheep
A much larger show met with a very sharp trade, and an average that was £10 up on the year, with Mule Wether lambs averaging just short of £60 per head, the best end pf Mules seeing John Harker of Lofthouse sell a pen of 50 at £68.50 and Stephen Thompson of Aysgarth sell a pen of 37 head at £68. Lowland lambsw ere keenly contested as well, with strong lambs following the prime trade by being up in price whilst a nice medium keep lamb was also up in value.
Breeding Sheep were a mixed entry of ages but a good trade. John Wright of Airton topped the sale with Suffolk Shearlings at £140, whilst correct Texels topped at £118 from Peter Houseman. A few pens of Mule Ewes broken Mouth correct below around £80-£85. Next Ewe sale is Friday 19th August. Entries to Mart Office by Mon 15th August.
