Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs Forward: 1,911 Head, Overall av £87.51 An excellent start to the New Year Store Sheep Sales with medium and short keep lambs in good demand. A busy ringside of regular buyers from the local area together with from counties the length of the Welsh Borders, and a good contingent from Eastern Counties on the A1 corridor present ringside to bid for all classes.

Robert Crisp in command again at opening Craven Dairy Auction Skipton Auction Mart’s first Craven Dairy Auction of 2022 presented both local and travelled buyers with a solid selection of 17 head, comprising seven fresh heifers, six fresh cows and a quartet of in-calf cows and heifers, over half of those forward making £2,000-plus.

North Craven Smiths strike again at CCM Skipton prime cattle opener The privilege of consigning the first prime cattle champion of the New Year at Skipton Auction Mart, fell, as it also did at the 2021 opener, to North Craven father and son hill farmers, Francis and Andrew Smith, of Lodge Farm, Masongill, close to the Yorkshire-Lancashire border above Ingleton.

CCM Auctions Conducted their Monthly Sale of Stirks, Weaned Calves and Young Store Cattle A nice entry of Stirks forward with trade solid for most goods with size and sweet goods selling very well. Younger Black and Whites a touch less with buyers wanting more flesh and size with weather conditions.

CCM Skipton New Year cattle opener begins on a high note The 2022 feeding cattle trading year at Skipton Auction Mart began on a high note, with solid selling prices seen at the traditional Great New Year opener, which attracted a bovine bounty approaching 600 head, among them 126 young bulls, 47 beef feeding cows and bulls, and 414 bullocks and heifers.

Throup family coup as Addingham Sheepbreeders charity lambs showcase nets over £5,000 Addingham & District Sheep Breeders’ Association stalwart Joe Throup again co-organised its 15th annual charity show and sale at Skipton Auction Mart in aid of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, Oxenhope, then claimed the bragging rights by winning it with a home-bred North of England Mule wether lamb.
