CCM Auctions held their 2nd Fortnightly Sale of Store Hoggs and Breeding Sheep at Skipton on Wednesday where another tidy entry of 1,149 head were presented for sale. Store Sheep sold to a very fast trade with strong hoggs in good demand. There was a reduction sale of inlamb ewes held on behalf of Thomas Binns from Downham, Mule Shlgs sold carrying twins sold at £140, 2+3 crop sheep £110-£120 and Correct sheep £95-£98.
77 Prime cattle comprising 24 Clean Cattle (under 30 mos), 4 Clean Cattle (over 30 mos) & 49 Cast Cattle.
3,638 Prime Sheep comprising 3235 Old Season Lambs, 391 Cast Ewes & 12 Rams.

Craven Dairy Auction (27 head)
Todays dairy sale went better than expected with a busy ringside but with many having a strict price in mind. Pre Sale winner was a 29 litre heifer from Mark Houseman of Burton Leonard which went on to make £1520, with Peter Baul’s Reserve Champion selling for £1500 and Robin Jenning’s 36L heifer selling at £1480.
Robert Butterfields Bull got away at £1200 with Incalf and Maiden cattle receiving a handy trade against the fresh calved trade.

A busy day at CCM Skipton today with 747 head of cattle presented for sale, representing an increase of 237 head on the corresponding sale in 2015.
The pick of the spring born bulls 350 to 450kg met a very good trade at similar levels to 2015 and an improvement on the opening sale. Continental x average £948 (2015 £949) with a number of new faces at the ringside for the first time this year.
