Forward: 539 head of cattle Comprising: 146 Young Feeding Bulls, 1 Grazing Cows, 382 Bullocks & Heifers, 10 Breeding Cattle CCM Auctions conducted their fortnightly cattle sale at Skipton Mart on Wednesday which included the Annual Autumn Show & Sale of Suckled Bull Steer and Heifer calves (2015 born) together with a prize Show of over year show potential cattle (2014 born).

BREEDING SHEEP - TUESDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2015

A healthy trade for breeding sheep on the last Tuesday Ewe sale of the season with a handy trade for all types, especially older sheep with buyers looking for suitable late additions to their flocks. Young sheep were also a reasonable trade with S Hodgson of Glossop making £108 of a pen of Texel X shearlings and SMR Foster, Arncliffe making £100 with some Mule shearlings. Old sheep were at such a trade that both parties would be happy with ‘one more time round’ sheep at between £40 and £65 and topping in the late £70’s for all types.

DAIRY & CALVES - MONDAY 26TH OCTOBER 2015

Rearing Calves to £390 (66) B&W av £84.34 Cont av £304.2 Native av £277.19 Strong numbers of dairy calves forward this morning with B&W and MRI’s taking up 60% of the sale. Black and whites were certainly healthier with the best nicely into the early £100’s with competition strong for commercial types making a healthy average. Best blues from Geoff and Margaret Booth topped the continentals at £390 for a strong blue bull.

Belle rings true to claim top price, as records tumble at Skipton working dogs showcase Phenomenal trade, including a top price of 5,600gns (£5,880), saw records tumble at Skipton Auction Mart’s Autumn working sheepdogs sale, with a new record for the number of dogs sold and a new all-time high selling price for a dog under 12-months-old.
