CCM Auctions held their final fortnightly Wednesday Sale of Store Lambs for the 2013-2014 season at Skipton this week. A very good entry for the time of year was assembled before the usual ringside of customers and a fast selling trade ensued, although not just as dear as the previous sale. Forward: 42 Prime cattle comprising 1 Clean Cattle (under 30 mos), 2 Clean Cattle (over 30 mos) & 38 Cast Cattle, 2,476 Prime Sheep comprising 2,123 Old Season Lambs, 353 Cast Ewes & Rams, 68 Rearing Calves, 39 Dairy Cattle, 7 Loads of produce.

Hesper Hoists Heifer Craven Dairy Title
Multiple past champion Brian Moorhouse, who runs the Airebank pedigree Holstein dairy herd at Hesper Farm, Bell Busk, sent out his first title winner of 2014 at the main February Craven Dairy Auction at Skipton Auction Mart.

Quiet on the milking front, but plenty of faces to sell them to. Brian Moorhouse, Bell Busk had the pick of the bunch with a superb home bred pedigree heifer giving 31kg reaching £2650 to a Mr Clarke of Hampsthwaite.
