Craven Dairy Auction (14 head) A handy trade in the dairy ring with a nice amount of bidders present. The Judging was carried out by Richard Crabtree of Clifton who swiftly went about his business and chose a superb 30kg heifer from Brian Moorhouse of Bell Busk which proceeded to sell for the sale high of £2000 to Brian Blezard of Ribchester. The next highest price came from the Fort family of Silsden Moor with a sweet 28kg heifer selling for £1900 to Mark Goodall of Tong. 106 calves entered and penned for this morning’s sale. Trade today was not quite as potent as the week before as a result of a few extra numbers and with a few less faces ringside. Aberdeen Angus’s founded a couple of fresh bidders today with a bull average of £238 and a top of £340 for a stonking bull from Smith’s of Carlerton. Aberdeen Angus heifers averaged £138 and topped with Rob Wallbank, Embsay at £180.

Black and whites would be slightly less money this week however the best Holstein bulls were up to £85 for a strong bull from RL Wright & Son of Airton.
