Ribble Valley success at Skipton prime lambs show Ribble Valley father and son sheep farmers, Richard and Mark Ireland, of Heys Farm, Whalley, warmed up for another tilt at Skipton Auction Mart’s high profile Christmas primestock fixture next month when sending out the prime lamb champions at the November show and sale. (Mon, Nov 4) They secured the title with a pen of five lambs by their highly regarded stock tup, Shamrock Beast, the first ram they bred in their pedigree Beltex flock, established four years ago.

**NEW ** SHOW & SALE OF PEDIGREE SUFFOLK FEMALES A solid trader across the board for Suffolk females at Skipton on Saturday when CCM conducted their In Augural Sale. A complete clearance of inlamb sheep topped at 850gns from Pamela Lupton for a Manorhouse Hotspot daughter out of a Rhaeadr Razzle Dazzle ewe, who had show breeding pedigree, which was sold scanned twins to Rhaeadr Jet Set.

SUFFOLK FEMALES - SATURDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2019

Trade sold at inaugural CCM Skipton Suffolk females show Solid across-the-board trade was achieved at a brand-new weekend show and sale for pedigree Suffolk females at Skipton Auction Mart. (Sat, Nov 2) The inaugural fixture made an immediate impact, with a complete clearance of the 17 in-lamb sheep penned for sale, which peaked at 850gns for a shearling ewe from Pamela Lupton’s Kexbeck flock at Greenholme Farm, Galphay, Ripon.

Boothmans lead the way at inaugural Skipton Hereford females fixture The Hereford cattle breed received a timely boost at Skipton Auction Mart with a brand-new weekend show and sale for females. (Sat, Nov 2) Claiming principal honours in the show class for the best haltered heifer on what was their first-ever appearance in the cattle show arena at the mart where they both work were local husband and wife, David and Iris Boothman, of Home Farm, Halton East.

Multiple highlights at CCM Skipton working sheep dogs sale Ross Games on top form with 7,600gns price leader One of the most successful working sheep dog sales ever staged at Skipton Auction Mart produced a record catalogue entry for the autumn fixture of 163, a top price of 7,600gns (£7,980), a brace of 6,000gns-plus sales, one at 5,400gns, eight at 4,000gns and over, a centre record average of £2,910 for broken registered dogs, plus the second highest ever price in the unbroken pen of 2,450gns.
