Judge Mr N Brown

1st – ASE Crisp & Son sold for £116

2nd – JW Stockdale sold for £102

3rd – Saddle End Farms sold for £98

A strong pre sale show of gimmer lambs gave our Judge Nick Brown of Broadway a headache, however he picked a Pen from Robert Crisp of Calton in Malhamdale which went on to sell for the top price on the day of £116. A steady trade  for all goods right throughout the day ensured lambs got away at some healthy prices. It was clear to see that the last 6 weeks of bad weather has affected the growth of a lot of lambs on offer today and this was reflected in the overall average. Plenty of darker faced running lambs were highly sought after seeing £84 - £95 all day long with tuppers £95- £100.

SWALEDALE (57.40)

Judge Mr J Nutter Jnr

1st – JM&S Tennant sold for £150

2nd – K Huck sold for £112

3rd – I Wilson sold for £125

Trade was easier than last years heady average of £79.13 to record an average of £57.40. Best runs of lambs were slightly down on the year but the weather through the spring and summer has caused lambs to be smaller and without the usual condition caused lower order lambs harder to move.
