Rearing Calves to £445 (53)
B&W av £55 Cont av £316.78 Native av £181.25
A healthy number of calves through the door this Monday with some very heady prices for the best calves today. £445 was the pinnacle today achieved by a belting calf from Shaun Sowray of Bishop Thornton, who also achieved the top price heifer at £380. Not quite the desire on the Limousin bulls today with a top of £350 for a Colin Whitelock calf.
Native calves were only seen in heifer form today with Hartley’s of Bolton Abbey getting their calves away nicely, topping at £190 x2. Black and whites saw a straight trade with Alf Townsend of Southfield Burnley topping at £90.
