DAIRY & CALVES - MONDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER 2019

Craven Dairy Auction (14 head) A handy trade in the dairy ring with a nice amount of bidders present. The next highest price came from the Fort family of Silsden Moor with a sweet 28kg heifer selling for £1900 to Mark Goodall of Tong. 106 calves entered and penned for this morning’s sale. Trade today was not quite as potent as the week before as a result of a few extra numbers and with a few less faces ringside. Best calves reached £380 for a super Charollais x bull from C Smith of Sutton in Craven and £370 for a 4 week old British Blue bull from Joss Lancaster, Horton in Craven.

Aberdeen Angus’s founded a couple of fresh bidders today with a bull average of £238 and a top of £340 for a stonking bull from Smith’s of Carlerton. Aberdeen Angus heifers averaged £138 and topped with Rob Wallbank, Embsay at £180.
