As expected trade was much reduced on the week, and this would be a good average on the day! Numbers about usual for the time of the year, but the market is very quiet for export sheep as currency see’s the Euro standing at 1.42 to the pound making exports very difficult. It looks likely that this could be the trade for the season now, buyers careful not to be buying over fat lambs rather preferring the 39kg to 43kg nice fleshed sorts than a 44kg to 46kg type.

Cast sheep a shade stronger in price on the week.

Trade for B&W bull calves continues to exceed expectations with a handful of younger calves reducing the average this week. Top end British Blue bulls got away well and British Blue Heifers were met by the seasonal demand from rearers of suckler cow replacements.
