However the overall average was up 14p/kg on the week to level at 174p, and even though it was show week, most classes of lowland lamb were 10p dearer on the week. Champion pen of lambs topped the trade, consigned by Mick Hewitt of Giggleswick and picked out by show judge Andrew Atkinson, later selling at £138 per head or 328.5p/kg to Countrystyle Meats of Lancaster. The same purchasers also landed a single lamb for £135 that was offered by Mart Chairman Anthony Hewetson with all the proceeds going to The Addingon Fund, other vendors can offer lambs at future sales for the same fund if they wish.  Tony Kiernan of Longridge presented a good run of lambs that topped at £117, the purchasers being Kendalls Farm Butchers of Harrogate and Pateley Bridge, whilst Vivers Scotlamb the next highest pen at £114 from WC Logan of Malham Moor.
