The opening sale of Dalesbred Mule Gimmer Lambs created considerble interest and judge Frank Brennand found his Champion pen from Messrs JH&J Ryder of Haverah Park. Jeff Ryder received the Josephine Barlett Memorial Trophy for the champion pen and then went on to sell his champions to Robert Partridge of Teignmouth for £118. The North of England Mule Gimmer lambs were dearer than anticipated with the average of £87 showing only a £1 fall from the previous sale for the 3rd draw of lambs.

The Masham gimmer Lambs were in line with other sales with strong lambs finding a good enquiry, the champion pen from Messrs Verity sold for £170 to regular buyer Keith Liddle of Stainburn.

Swaledale Gimmer lambs met a highly satisfactory trade, well ahead of expectations.
