546 HEAD OF CATTLE
Comprising:  108 Young Feeding Bulls, 433 Bullocks & Heifers, 5 Breeding Cattle

The Fortnightly Sale of Store & Breeding Cattle at Skipton Mart on Wednesday attracted a large entry of 546 head of cattle. Included in today sale was the autumn Show & Sale of Suckled calves and over year stores with show potential. Results and main prices as below.

The Bull section saw a good show of 2013 born Suckled Calves for which trade was good especially for the best end. Vendors should note that changes to the maximum age bringing it to 16 months at deadweight outlets is now causing buyers to buy bulls over 12 months of age with caution and farm assurance can also influence this price.

In the store ring trade was also good for the better end, but some plainer goods were no dearer as housing time looms.
