Strong trade for cast cows. Cattle in forward condition best to sell if farm assured. New section for TB exempt cattle from 1 and 2 year holdings received interest from processors and Approved finishers in the south west. Export lambs particularly strong topping at 270.5p/kg for TA Robinson of Longridge whilst highest £ per head was S Spensley & Co of Gargrave at £119.

CRAVEN DAIRY AUCTION (41 head)

 A quality entry of cattle met a medioca trade with a number of buyers cutting grass for the coming good weather. Judge Frank Wrathall chose a fine heifer from David and Claire Lawson of Arthington which went on to reach a top price of £2280 for a Home bred Pedigree Heifer calved 21 days and giving 33litres. The next top price heifer came from Robin Jennings of South Stainley with a 9 day calved 31 litre heifer eventually realising a price of £2220. Next Sale 1st of July Entries by Tuesday 24th June please.
