Autumn calves now coming forward and with bulls and short supply, these are very good trade particularly if in forward condition. A handful of August bulls and late spring 2017 born bulls. £1420 for a Blue cross from JM Townsend of Laneshawbridge and £1400 for a July Blue Cross

Feeding Cows saw first cross continentals and natives made up the bulk of the entry and a very good trade with a general shortage of cast cattle. Best of the beef feeding cows was Simon Bennetts Blue cross at £1130. Young feeding cows with improvement very good to sell.

Larger show of cattle forward this fortnight with healthy trade throughout the sale. Well shaped older cattle were particularly good to sell today with the £1,300’s being seen regularly for cattle from Fox Farms and Fair Place Farm with large, short keep cattle good to sell right throughout the day. More Competition on yearling to 16 month cattle today with regular runs of cattle from £750 to £1000. Friesian bullocks were once again the on the receiving end of some good bidding with Keith Downs of Milnerfield topping at £1050.
