Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle. Forward: 414 head of cattle, Comprising: 412 Feeding Cattle (98 Young Bulls, 45 Beef Feeding Cows, 269 Bullocks & Heifers) & 2 Breeding Cattle.

A good show of bulls for the time of year and a ring full of purchasers bearing in mind that buyers of heavy bulls tend to hold off until January. Autumn 2017 bulls scarce with the pick a November born limousin from Alan Lodge of Malham Moor selling for £1200. Most of the entry 5-10 months of age with a top price from R&VJ Brown Kirkby Malham for a February 2018 Limousin x at £1040. JG Bamforth & Sons, Slaithwaite sold a pen of 7 Cont x Bulls with most march born limousins for £980 and £970.

Grazing Cows a deceptive trade with first cross lean beef cows steady but any beef cross cows either younger or scope to feed were good to sell.

A solid trade for all classes of store cattle with buyers out in force producing a fast selling trade. Best end saw keen prices, with Peter Fox leading the way with his first prize bullock at £1340. Plenty of trade for nice yearling cattle too, with both bullocks and heifers good to sell. A nice show of Angus, Hereford and other native cattle in the mix today, and these sold to the usual strong trade with additional buyers out looking for cattle.
