Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs
Forward: Head, Overall av £54.37
A big show of lambs forward for sale, and a big ringside of buyers as well helped produce a much better trade than anticipated. Lowland lambs found favour with buyers as averages were pushed higher than the previous sale. Beltex were keenly contested with several pens over £70, whilst the best of the Texels also topped £70.
A few pens of nice Texel gimmer lambs also sold well with James Earnshaw topping the sale at £100 and Julie Eddington made £87 of another nice pen.
Hill bred lambs were out in force, the 2085 Mule and Masham Wethers averaging a solid £52.53 per head, and 646 Swaledale and Dalesbred Wethers averaging £38.10 each.
