MARKET REPORT - WEDNESDAY 2ND OCTOBER:6291 Head, Overall av £52.92 (£52.90 in 2012) CCM auctions held their fortnightly sale where lambs were dearer than the previous sale.

MARKET REPORT - TUESDAY 1ST OCTOBER: 2,437 head Breeding Sheep comprising 759 Correct, 1662 Broken Mouthed & 16 Rams. A mixed show of sheep met with a mixed trade, some classes of young sheep looking as well sold as at recent sales, but some classes cheaper. The broken mouthed ewes generally selling away well, with Swaledales averaging just over £30.

MARKET REPORT - WEDNESDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER; 654 HEAD OF CATTLE Comprising: 76 Young Feeding Bulls, 553 Bullocks & Heifers, 25 Breeding Cattle An increased entry of 654 head of Store & Breeding Cattle was presented at the fortnightly sale at Skipton Mart on Wednesday. Trade generally was a touch cheaper than the previous sale, although overall the cattle were not as strong either with more in the 12 month to 17 month old region than previously seen.

MARKET REPORT - THURSDAY 19TH & FRIDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER: PEDIGREE TEXELS - 459 head; 160 Females & 299 Rams. CCM Auctions conducted the Northern Area Texel Sheep Breeders Club Sale at Skipton Mart where a solid commercial base underpinned the trade throughout the sale with a clearance rate of 90% achieved.

MARKET REPORT - WEDNESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER:6,589 Head (Overall av £56.54) At the fortnightly sale of Store Sheep there was a good attendance of travelled buyers looking to purchase lambs for longer term keep and this helped to maintain the trade for Suffolk, Continental and Cheviot lambs from that seen at the previous sale, smarter types would be a shade dearer.

CCM Auctions held the fortnightly sale of Gimmer Shearlings and Breeding Ewes at Skipton Mart on Tuesday where trade was seen to be slightly better than at the previous sale especially for the commercial types of sheep.

MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 11th SEPTEMBER 2013 FORTNIGHTLY SALE OF YOUNG FEEDING BULLS, STORE BULLOCKS & HEIFERS, BREEDING CATTLE FORWARD: 547 HEAD OF CATTLE Comprising: 82 Young Feeding Bulls, 452 Bullocks & Heifers, 13 Breeding Cattle A great show of strong store cattle attracted seasonal buyers from down country who produced a very strong trade for all types. Buyers were keen and potential vendors are encouraged to take advantage by selling strong store cattle whilst the large numbers are here to attract buyers travelling some distance. No shortage of cattle at 4 figure prices. Another feature of the sale were some good runs of Angus cattle which sold well. Next Sale – Wednesday 25th September

MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 10th SEPTEMBER 2013

Great Annual Show & Sale of North of England Mule Ewe Lambs onbehalf of NEMSA Members. Forward: 7,068 head at an overall average of £102.00 per head (-£7.11 down) CCM Auctions conducted the opening show and sale of NEMSA members Mule Gimmer Lambs at Skipton Auction Mart, North Yorkshire on Tuesday. Another increased show of lambs at this major sale sold well on the day to record an overall average of £102.00 per head, just over £7 per head down on the year. Given all the external factors affecting the sheep trade at the moment this looks a fair result all round for both buyers and sellers.

MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 4th SEPTEMBER 2013 Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs Forward: 6046 Head, Overall av £56.18 A tidy show of lambs met with a decent trade. More travelled buyers were in attendance from Wales and the Eastern counties, stretching all the way down into Norfolk. There were more Mule Wethers on offer at this sale with over 1500 head of these averaging £1 more than the previous sale to level at £50.91 each. Texel and Cheviot lambs also found a much better following with more seasonal customers arriving for wintering lambs. Strong end £60 to £65, keeping lambs £54 to £59.
