CCM Auctions Conducted their Monthly Sale of Stirks, Weanlings and Young Store Cattle

Forward – 241 head cattle.

A good run forward today with some large consignments of both suckler bred and dairy bred goods for the Monthly Sale. 38 Blue heifers forward with 5/6-month-old good £500-£580 and yearling 14-month-old cattle ready for turnout £650-£800. A few older blues forward reaching more with top price for 2 yearlings from CT&EM Hammond, Padside achieving £940. Blue steers trading similar to last sale with decent 5/7-month-old fed blues out of Black & White cows sold around the £580-£660 mark with smaller sorts £500-£560. Some smart blue bullocks bred from Suckler beast getting good returns for 7/8-month cattle making £800-£930. Paddy & Alice Shaw, South Yorkshire showed a run of 45 Native & Blue grazing heifers 12 months upwards. Hereford heifers sold between £640-£700 whilst Angus traded at £700-£840 for good hard grazers and £580-£680 for next grade down. Black & White bullocks short of requirements with good hard grazers £480-£550 for size with plainer end £420+. Hard farming stirks that had seen all winter outside sold with size £400+ and smaller younger sorts either side of £300. Belted Galloway Cow & Calf sold at £700.
