Prime Cattle (under 30 mos)

Ralph Pearson Wholesale Butchers put a very good pen of cattle together which included all the leading prices per kg and gross prices. With a better show on offer Robert Pearson secured amongst other a pair of notable purchases from CD&RF Kitching of Threshfield including top price overall, a 620kg Pathanis cross steer at £1646 (265.5p/kg) and the leading gross heifer a 595kg British Blue cross at £1639 (275.5p/kg). Sharing the top price per kg price was a 570kg Limousin cross steer at 275.5p/kg (£1570) from Mesrs F&B Smith of Masongill who also produced another smart 580kg Limousin cross steer which made 272.5p/kg or £1581, with both selling to Ralph Pearsons.

Robertshaws Farm Shop of Thornton had a useful 500kg Limousin cross steer at 263.5p/kg (£1317) from Simon Bennett of Silsden Moor along with Limousin cross heifers from S&NV Jowett at 265.5p/kg (£1474) and CD&RF Kitching at 595kg, 263.5p/kg and £1568. Barkers Yorkshire Butchers also at the ringside bought a 620kg Limousin cross steer from Bill Cowperthwaite of Malham Moor at 258.5p/kg or £1512.
