A nice show of Lambs Hoggs and Ewes for the time of year. Lambs nearly trebling in number on the week and handyweights good to sell.
Hogg numbers tightening, again handyweights in good demand, nice heavies good to sell, commercial overweights a little harder work. Ewes and Rams were the trade of the day with buyers keen for numbers after the festival last weekend.

N/S LAMBS.
Joe and Trevor Stoney from Pateley Bridge took this months Prime Show Championship with a pair of Continentals that weighed 50kg and sold to Knavesmire Butchers of York. Messrs Stoney also presented an excellent single lamb at 42kg that sold outwith the show for todays leading prices of £208 or 495p/kg again to Knavesmire. Completing their excellent day, they also sold another lamb at £202, this time to A Atkinson.
Other quality lambs £160 to £180 or 370p plus, with other leading prices seeing PB Fox & Son of York make 429p (41kg £176) and 421p (38kg £160) and 415p (40kg £166). Craven Farms from York, and J Fisher & Son Goosnargh also made 415p.
