Next Breeding Ewe & Gimmer Shearling Sale is on Tuesday 28th September

This will include the
Annual Special Sale of Halfbred and Horned Ewes broken mouthed correct below and feeding ewes.
Plus Inaugural Sale for Cheviot, Lonk, Gritsone & White Faced Woodland Shearlings & Ewes.

Entries close Monday 20th September at 4pm.

Trade for shearlings mirrored the first sale. Buyers looking for prolific sheep favoured the mules to record a similar average. Demand for Continentals favoured the well drawn strong first cross sheep and the very best. A number of runs of Texels bred from Cheviot Mules were in particular demand with best end comfortably £220+. Suffolk Mules equally finding a market these days.
Breeding sheep sold to recent heights with best mule shearlings £180-£210, working sheep £165-£180. Texel Shearlings again a nice trade with buyers after strong first crossed ewes or pure bred gimmers. Older ewes sold to a terrific trade. Large ewes were keenly bid for with 3 crop ewes regular £120-£140 selling to £160. Leaner goods £90-£110.
