Feeding Bulls – a fair trade if a shade easier on the fortnight average £1034 verses £1070 with much of the difference due to clearing of pens for lambing and presenting bulls that would normally be held over. The younger end if U grade types held up very well with a run of well batched continentals in finished condition born March to July averaging £1124 for JA&JM Wade & Son. Bulls in the 330/350kg most £950 and all the bulls under 12months average £1024. The heavier and better end in this age group to £1310 for MJ&A Carr but £1200 was a barrier for this category today. Bulls 12 months to 17 months average £1083 with top prices 2 good February Limousin bulls from J Pickles at £1360 and £1300. As with the younger bull £1200 was a threshold and straw and feed cost are now factoring in discussions with buyers.

Feeding Cows – an exceptional trade and a useful entry of cattle carrying finish. Last sale cows averaged £891 todays average £1036. Best end of the British Blues to £1700 av £1115 with 5 entries over £1200. Similar in the Limousins top £1315 av £1055. Natives to £1130 for a Hereford x, Angus to £1030.
