ANNUAL SHOW & SALE OF SWALEDALE EWES & GIMMER SHEARLINGS
Forward: 2217 head. Overall Average was £130.23 (+£13.89)
CCM Auctions conducted their Annual Sale of Swaledale Draft Ewes and Gimmer Shearlings at Skipton Mart on Saturday.
It was a mixed show of sheep this year, with some sheep having summered better on the fells than others. Strong pens of sheep saw prices nicely up on the year with some pens £20 to £30 up, whilst more commercial pens were a similar trade or slightly better on the year. The overall selling average stood at £130, a £13 rise on the year.
Stuart & Debbie Robinson led the ewe prices at £195 with their prize winning pen, whilst best end of shearlings stood form £180 to a top of £240 fro Sandy Harrisons 1st Prize winning pen.
We thank our judge’s for the day who were Mr Joe Throup & Mr John Stott and they gave their prize awards as follows:
